How to install Hulu to Echo Show explained

Today there are many different streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and so on. All of them, on the one hand, provide the same opportunities as you watch your favorite movies and series. However, all streaming platforms vary in price and the number of devices connected at the same time.

Hulu is one of the popular streaming services in the United States. You can watch your favorite movies and TV shows on this streaming service. Echo Show is a simple and reliable multimedia viewing device. You can listen to music, take calls, check the weather, and do a quick Alexa search on Echo Show. If you’re wondering if you can install the Hulu streaming service on your Echo Show device, the answer is yes.

So, if you want to install Hulu on your Echo Show device, here is how to do this.

How to use Hulu on Echo Show

First of all, you have to be aware that the Hulu streaming service is a part of the Video Skills suit on the Echo Show. If you have never used this option before, Alexa will ask you to enable it first. When you will take to the Video Skills menu, you have to tap on Hulu and enter your login information.

Once the Hulu streaming service appears on the screen, tap on the “Log In” button in the top right corner of the screen. Then, you will be able to enter your username and password to sign in to your Hulu account. After the system recognizes your credentials, a notification window appears informing you that Hulu is on. Tap “OK” on the notification window and go to the Hulu home screen.

You can now use voice commands and ask Alexa to play any channel or TV show on Hulu. The main thing is to be patient because the system will take a few seconds to execute the command. Usually, there is a short buffer period before the video starts, which turns off about three seconds after you say, “Alexa, stop”.

What do you have to know about Hulu and Echo Show

Hulu’s streaming service is famous for being very easy to set up on any device, including Amazon’s Echo Show. In fact, there’s no need to download and install it before you turn it on. If you’ve recently updated your software, the Hulu icon should appear under “Video Skills”. Unfortunately, Hulu is not compatible with all Echo Shows. You can only use the service on first- and second-generation Echo Shows. These are the 7-inch and 10.1-inch models, respectively.

Some users have complained that they have difficulty connecting to Hulu after a software update. If this has happened to you, try rebooting your device and then logging in and out of Hulu. Keep in mind that a similar problem can occur if you are using two Alexa-enabled devices.

Be aware also that Alexa connects to one device at a time and can only accept commands for one device. So don’t be surprised if you talk to the Echo Show and Alexa triggers the Fire Stick.

What Alexa voice commands are useful for Hulu

When Hulu is on, you can simply say “Alexa, open Hulu” to go to the app’s main menu. But, as mentioned before, you can go straight to a specific channel or show. Here’s a list of commands you might find useful:

  • “Alexa, tune to + the name of a channel”
  • “Alexa, play + the name of a program/series”
  • “Alexa, search for + the name of Hulu content”
  • “Alexa, change to + the channel name”
  • “Alexa, show me episodes of + series’ name”
  • “Alexa, show me channels”
  • “Alexa, rewind to the beginning”
  • “Alexa, play next episode”

That’s all you have to know about Hulu and Echo Show.
