How to use drafts on Instagram

Using Instagram has already become commonplace. A large number of posts and stories are made every day. It would seem that we already know everything about the various useful functions and advantages of this social network. But in case you are a relatively new or infrequent user, you may not know that there is such a great option as drafts saving. 

For example, if you aren’t ready to publish your new post on Instagram, you can return to it later. Just save it as a draft. 

So, in this article, we are going to tell you how to use drafts on Instagram on different devices.

How to use Instagram drafts on Android device

If you want to create and save your new publication as a draft on an Android device, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, open Instagram app;
  • Click on the “plus” icon at the top right of the screen;

  • Take a photo or choose it from your library and tap blue arrow in the top right corner;

  • Then, you can edit your photo by selecting a filter. After that, tap the arrow in the left top corner;
  • Finally, a window will pop up prompting you to save the draft or discard it.

On the “New Post” screen, you will now see the “Drafts” menu. You can click it to continue editing when you’re ready. When you have finished editing, click the blue right arrow to save the post and publish it.

How to use Instagram drafts on an iPhone

If you want to create and save a new publication as a draft on an iPhone, you have to follow these steps:

  • First of all, open Instagram app;
  • Click on the “plus” icon at the top right of the screen;
  • Take a photo or choose it from your library and tap “Next” in the top right corner;
  • Then, you can edit your photo by selecting a filter. After that, tap “Next” and straight tap “back” icon;
  • Finally, a window will pop up prompting you to save the draft or discard it.

On the “New Post” screen, you will now see the “Drafts” menu. You can click it to continue editing when you’re ready. When you have finished editing, click the blue right arrow to save the post and publish it.

You have also to be aware – if you only upload the post without editing and changing its description, and after that go back, Instagram won’t ask you to save the draft.
