However, if you are a relatively new or infrequent user, you may not know that there is such a great option as drafts saving. For example, if you aren’t ready to publish your new post on Instagram, you can return to it later. Just save it as a draft.
So let’s take a closer look at how to use drafts on Instagram.
How to save an Instagram Story as a draft
If you want to create and save your story as a draft, you can follow these steps:
- First, open the Instagram app and sign in to your account if needed.
- Tap on the + icon at the top right of the screen and select Story.
- After that, take a photo or choose it from your camera roll and add a sticker or an effect to your story.
- Then tap on the Back button at the top left corner of the screen.
- Finally, a window will pop up, prompting you to Save the draft or Discard it.
You also have to be aware – if you only upload the photo without editing and changing, and after that, go back, Instagram won’t ask you to save the draft.
How to find an Instagram Story draft
You can now access this draft at any time. To do this, open the camera to create a story and go to the camera roll. Next, you will see photos from your gallery and a Drafts tab.
This is where you will find your draft.
How to delete an Instagram Story draft
If you want to delete your draft – follow these instructions:
- Go to the Drafts tab as mentioned above.
- Then tap Select at the top right corner and check the draft you want to remove.
- Finally, tap Delete.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to restore this draft. So be careful when deleting.
How to save an Instagram post as a draft
There’s nothing complicated about saving your Instagram post as a draft. So do the following:
- Open Instagram and tap on the + icon at the top to create a post.
- Then select a photo and tap Next.
- After that, apply any effect and tap Back.
- Finally, choose Save draft or Discard.
Here’s the same thing as with Instagram Stories. You can’t save a draft if you didn’t make any changes.
How to find an Instagram post draft
You can find your drafts easily on Instagram. To do this – follow these steps:
- Open Instagram and tap on the + icon at the top.
- Next, tap on the Drafts tab.
There you will see your recently made draft.
How to delete an Instagram post draft
If you want to delete your Instagram post draft – use these instructions:
- Go to the Drafts tab as mentioned above.
- After that, tap Manage.
- Then tap Edit at the top right corner of the screen.
- Now, select your draft and tap Done.
- Finally, tap Discard posts.
Once you have completed these steps, you will remove your Instagram post draft from your account. Remember that you won’t be able to restore it after doing this.
What’s more, you should know that your Instagram keeps your drafts and won’t remove them automatically. However, if this suddenly happens, it’s most likely a glitch. So contact the Instagram support team and ask for help.
