Using the advanced 7nm-class TSMC N7 process, this processor provides exceptional performance and power efficiency. The integrated in-chip MEMC engine ensures reliable, energy-efficient motion compensation for 8K content, setting it apart from competitor solutions.

Global Compatibility and Unmatched Performance

Pentonic 2000, supports all major video codecs including HEVC, VP9, AVS3, AV1 and the latest VVC (H.266), as well as the latest broadcast standards such as ATSC 3.0. MediaTek’s Intelligent View technology takes full advantage of the ultra-high 8K resolution, allowing multiple content sources to be displayed simultaneously on a single screen.

Internally, the processor features a quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 CPU running at up to 1.8GHz and an Arm Mali-G57 MC3 GPU running at up to 1GHz. The processor supports 96-bit LPDDR4 memory at 4,266 Mbps with fast UFS 3.1 storage for fast data access. The chip also supports HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G.

MediaTek Pentonic 1000

MediaTek Pentonic 1000 is a processor for premium 4K smart TVs. The processor is designed for 4K displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR) support up to 144Hz.

At the heart of the Pentonic 1000 is a quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 processor running at up to 2.0 GHz and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU running at up to 800 MHz. These are paired with 64-bit LPDDR4/4X memory at 4266 Mbps for fast processing and smooth multitasking. The chip also incorporates a dedicated MediaTek DLA unit designed to efficiently optimize image and audio processing tasks.

The chip also integrates voice assistant support with a built-in microphone, allowing manufacturers to create TVs with hands-free voice control and smart home integration. In terms of connectivity, the Pentonic 1000 features HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen-1 (5Gbps), USB 2.0 and supports eMMC 5.1, ensuring compatibility with the latest peripherals and accessories.

MediaTek Pentonic 800

MediaTek Pentonic 800 is a processor for high-end 4K TVs and is installed in most high-end TVs, for example Samsung’s 2025 OLED TVs have this processor.

The Pentonic 800 is based on a quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 processor running at up to 1.8GHz and an Arm Mali-G57 MC1 GPU and is designed to process 4K video with support for refresh rates up to 165Hz for variable refresh rate (VRR) displays. It features fast 64-bit DDR4 memory at 3200 Mbps. The Pentonic 800 integrates motion estimation and compensation (MEMC) up to 120 Hz, with a built-in synchronization controller (TCON).

The processor also includes software modules with technologies such as AI-Super Resolution 3.0 for improved zoom and detail recovery, AI-based contrast and noise reduction, and adaptive image adjustment based on scene and object recognition. These features help eliminate artifacts and improve image clarity for all content sources. It supports HDMI 2.1a FRL (48Gbps), DisplayPort 1.4a, USB 3.2 Gen-1 and eMMC 5.1 connectivity with support for VB1 and eDP panel interfaces.
