How to identify the LG washing machine year of manufacture?

The first three digits of the serial number are the date. The first digit is the year and the second and third the month. The year is repeated every ten years. So you need to check the model number to find out when it was made and the date. LG model numbers are unique and never repeated.

Here’s how it works; for example: on eBay, I found an ad for a used washing machine, model WM4370HKA, serial number 710KWHX63777. Look up the model number WM4370 in the table; the last three letters can be omitted; it’s a design. This model of washing machine started to be produced in 2016. And the first three digits of the serial number are the date. If you compare the serial number with the model number, you can see that the washing machine was produced in October 2017, which is almost six years, which is short.

How old is your washing machine model?

Suppose you want to know how old your washing machine is. Use the serial number to find out the date of manufacture. You should know that a washing machine model is manufactured for 4 to 6 years. Particularly unsuccessful models with many failures can be discontinued after two years. Reincarnations of models are possible; successful models can be produced longer. But it is only possible to produce such a model for a short time, so the control design is changed, and then a model of the washing machine with a different model number is produced.
